  • Illustrated cover and spine for the book Bluebeard.

    Bluebeard Cover 2021

    Autodesk Sketchbook, Photoshop

A book cover for Charles Perrault’s rendition of the story Bluebeard. The main idea for the design was pulled from a specific moment in the source text where the protagonist had discovered the horrible secret of her husband and dropped the small key in a pool of blood. She then returns the key back to her husband, unable to remove the blood, and in this moment Bluebeard now knows she knows. The title text was drawn right into the illustration to purposely resemble tangles and shadow in the beard.

  • A Midsummer Night's Dream Poster 2021

    Autodesk Sketchbook, Photoshop

This theater poster was illustrated in the style of Gustav Klimt in his painting the Kiss. I wanted to appropriate this painting for A Midsummer Night’s Dream because I think there is a dream-like quality of it that reflects the Shakespeare play. The donkey is the most used icon to represent this comedy and I wanted to continue to use it but in a unique way. Replacing the characters of the Kiss with Bottom and Titania was my solution. The title text interacts with the illustration in a subtle way, following the line of the fairy wing.

  • American Mary Movie Poster 2022

    Illustrator, Photoshop

The American Mary poster was done in inspiration of the Swiss style. My main goal was to reflect the ending of the movie in an abstracted way so that the audience, when looking back at the poster after watching, would have that special moment of complete understanding. The design is based off of the protagonist’s bloodied black and white dress at the end of the movie. I wanted the title to interact with the blood and that materialized as the blood drip replacing the “I” in American. The “Y” of Mary was then used to follow the lines of the ripped fabric.
